v1.9 – Export Editor

Demonstrates how every photo is slightly different.
Demonstrates how every photo is slightly different.
Exporting from Instillr used to take a few extra steps.

A straight image export was easy, but sharing meant jumping into another app to resize, add backgrounds, or layer in text.

With the new Canvas Editor, your photo is just the beginning!

Build beyond a single frame

Photo Layers

Your photos don’t have to stand alone!

Combine multiple images to create collages that capture more than a single moment, whether that’s a day, a weekend, or a full story. Hide frames and captions for a cleaner look, add subtle shadows for depth, or turn a photo into a soft, blurred background.

Text Layers

Add headings and typography directly to your canvas. Text layers support fill, stroke, and gradients, giving you precise control over how your words sit alongside your images. New display fonts pair naturally with the handwritten styles you already know.

Shape Layers

Add stars, hearts, lines, and more. Fill them with colour, texture, patterns, or even photos. Simple tools, with a surprising amount of flexibility.

Textures

Choose from subtle materials like sand, paper, wood, marble, and concrete. Use them as full backgrounds or within shapes to add character without overpowering your photo.

Aspect Ratios

Select from aspect ratios that match common social platforms, so there’s no resizing or reworking later.

What’s next

This is just the beginning for the Canvas Editor.

We’re already working on drawing layers, stickers, texture packs, and templates to make it faster and more expressive to use.

We’d love your feedback

This update moves Instillr closer to a complete flow, from capture through to sharing.

But the real measure is how it feels in your hands.

Positive or negative, we want to hear it. Your feedback directly shapes what comes next. You can give feedback from the side menu in the app, or by email.
